A Very Busy Week for the Oil City Middle / High School Choirs!

Monday, December 10th
  • Leadership Meeting (HS Only - Choirmistresses, Section Leaders, and Assistants) 2:40 pm
  • Apparel orders passed out - due Friday, 12/14
Tuesday, December 11th
  • 8th Grade Chorus Permssion slips for Wednesday’s Performance Due Extra Copies in Google Classroom
  • HS Chorus Dress Rehearsal periods 9 and 10
  • A Cappella Choir Permission Slips handed out during class for Friday’s Tour - Due back Thursday.
  • Change of Tone and Un4Gettable Performance at Zonta Club Dinner - 6:45 pm Karma Coffee Oil City
Wednesday, December 12th
  • 8th Grade Chorus Performance at Good Hope Lutheran Church
    • Dress is Black pants and White top (Men-ties and dress shoes and socks, ladies - tie or scarf, dress shoes)
    • Students will eat lunch at normal time, but will be dismissed at 12:20 to load busses
    • Students will return by the end of their choir period at 1:21
  • HS Holiday Concert 7:30 pm
    • Admission is a canned good or non-perishable food item which we will donate to local charities
    • Report time for choirs is 6:45 pm
    • Dress is dress clothes under the robs (dress pants, shirt. and dress shoes - men.  Women - skirt and blouse, dress, or pants and blouse with dress shoes)
    • Men's and Women's Choirs will report to the choir room, A Cappella will report to the HS Cafeteria
    • This is a required performance (35% of nine weeks grade)
Thursday, December 13th
  • A Cappella Choir Permission slips for Elementary Tour Due
  • Rhapsody in Blues and Quartet Performance at OC Lodge of Perfection Christmas Party - 7:15 PM at Masonic hall on East First Street (families are welcome to attend.  Festivities to begin at 7:00.  Students perform at 7:30)
Friday, December 14th
  • Apparel Orders Due
  • Rhapsody in Blues and A Cappella Choir Tour of Elementary Schools and Belle Lettres Club
    • Students will leave school at 8:00 AM and Return at approximately 2:15 PM
Sunday, December 16th
  • Un4Gettable at St. Joe's Christian Formation Luncheon - 11:30 report, 11:45 perform.

OCMA GENERAL MEETING - MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 16, 6:00 PM

      The Oil City Music Department is a very active group, and the directors and music teachers are extremely dedicated to their respective programs.  However, they are in need of parent support, in the form of volunteers, organizational talents, and as a vocal influence on policymakers and administrators, to “spread the word,” if you will, about the positive things going on in our music department, which not only benefit your children, but the community as a whole.      Being a citizen in the Oil City Area School District, and/or having a student in the band, choir, or musicals allows you to be a member of our organization.  You can be as active as you desire, with our general meeting twice a year, and most committees meeting rarely at the discretion of the board and directors.        The Oil City Music Association will hold a parents' meeting   on this Monday, September 16th at 6:00 pm   in the high school choir room.  The purpose of the meeting will be to discuss upcoming proje
