Oil City Middle and High School Choirs

Departed Oil City High School at 4:15 this morning.  Everyone safe, happy, and well-fed from the breakfast stop at the Golden Corral (quoth Mr. Cartwright, "woot woot!")  Now on our way south!

Congratulations to the Rhapsody in Blues and Quartets for an excellent Night of A Cappella tonight.  Special thanks also to our guest quartet, Fast Forward, for joining us this evening. Great Show!

Tonight's Night of A Cappella concert will be livestreamed on Oil City High School's YouTube Page starting at 7:30 pm.  Web address is: www.youtube.com/oilernews Thanks to Mr. McLoughlin and the members of the media department for broadcasting this event.  Concert begins at 7:30pm in the Auditorium, and all proceeds benefit the family of Josh Snow (2000-2015), to help with expenses during this difficult time.  Admission is $2.

Oil City High School Music Department presents its 5th Annual Night of A Cappella this Saturday, April 25th, at 7:30 pm in the High School Auditorium.  Tickets are $2 at the door.  Proceeds from Saturday night's concert will be donated to the Snow family, a member of the music department family who lost their son on Thursday, to help with funeral expenses.  Additional donations will be accepted at the door as well.  Featured groups include The 4 Quarters, 4Ward On!, The Rhapsody in Blues, and featured quartet Fast Forward.

Parent Help is needed for hoagie pickup on Monday afternoon, and on Saturday night for Night of A Cappella.  Student help is needed for Both events as well.  Contact Mr. Luxbacher if able to help.

Just a reminder that Marianna's Hoagie Pickup will be tomorrow, Monday, April 20th, from 3:00-5:00 pm in the high school cafeteria.  Contact Mr. Luxbacher or Mr. Cartwright with questions.

Just a reminder that we will be holding the trip review meeting for our trip to Nashville tomorrow night, Thrusday, April 16th, at 7:00 pm in the high school auditorium.  We will be handing out itneraries and trip policies at this time.  Parents and students are encouraged to attend.  A chaperone meeting will be held following the general meeting.  Contact Mr. Cartwright or Mr. Luxbacher with questions.

Mr. Jim Ellis from Jim Ellis Photography will be in today to take group and individual shots of the band and choir for the annual composite.  Pictures may be ordered from Mr. Ellis from the form that your student brought home to you Friday and Monday.  In the event that extra forms are needed, students can fill them out in class today (we have extras...) and bring payment, or you can download and fill out the form at  http://www.ocasd.org/webpages/dcartwright/files/picture_order.pdf  and bring it to class today, or mail it directly to Mr. Ellis.  Students taking both band and choir pictures should fill out two separate forms (one for each).  Contact Mr. Luxbacher or Mr. Cartwright with questions.
